VISION PERSONAL TRAINING
Scott Capelin is an owner of multiple Vision Personal Training franchises. With a Commerce and Marketing degree and related work experience to boot, he was 23 when he switched careers to follow his passion. Personal training.
In 1999, Scott joined Vision Personal Training as a personal trainer. He loved the concept - one on one training to create the desired body. His vision (pun intended) was to become a business owner and this came to fruition in 2005 when he opened his first franchise. He had the educational background, marketing experience, personal training experience as well as existing familiarity of the business he was buying into. One thing was missing.
"Personal trainers are great at looking after their own health and are passionate about exercise. However, many are limited in sales and marketing skills, leadership skills, communication skills, business management skills and even public speaking. I knew that if I wanted to be the best in my field and run a successful business, I needed these skills and in particular sales," said Scott.
Scott studied Sales Mastery with the National Sales Academy, a 12 day course which teaches students to:
• reduce and overcome objections before they arise
• create massive referral business
• establish buying patterns
• professionally control and lead with questions
• increase closing percentages
• increase organic and fresh sales through adapting people skills.
When put into practice, the sales and communication skills he gained helped grow the businesses, increase cash flow, retain clients and stabilise the business overall. Immediate return on investment was achieved, by signing up just two new members within two weeks. However the immense benefits continue as the teachings were embedded into the business, and shared with staff.
"Vision Personal Training sales systems are all based on the knowledge and skill gained from The National Sales Academy. I love systems because they make good people great! By having sales systems I do not have to worry about employees using their own sales methods that haven’t been proven to work consistently."
The sales systems were proving to be highly effectively, but there was room for more improvement. Vision Personal Training enrolled promising team members into the Sales Mastery course as well.
"I had many enthusiastic team members, however they had no sales background. After undergoing the NSA Sales Mastery course I saw their skills improve almost overnight. We were getting improved results whether it be from a phone inquiry or face-to-face consultation. By having people trained to be sales professionals, I feel more confident about being away from the business because I know they have the skills to succeed".
